Rated 5 out of 5 by Baron31 from Stunning Looks and Great Performance I have the Metal series Hair Trimmers and this Stubble trimmer is of the same sort of quality. They just look amazing right from the box itself which is superb as packaging goes. The trimmer itself is no different, looking totally gorgeous when removed from the box.The ultra modern grey/chrome finish with striking blue LED lighs and display just look amazing. The trimmer just ouzes quality as soon as you pick it up, fortunately the S996U isn't just about looking stunning as once charged and powered up it is very easy to use with its adjustable stubble length adjustment at the touch of a button coupled with an blue LED display from 0.4mm to 5.0mm in 0.2mm increments giving you total control of your stubble length. The trimmer gaurd can also be removed for detailing and sideburn trimming etc. Overall this is an excellent stubble trimmer which I am very happy with and I have now been converted from jumping between close shaved and too much stubble as it is so easy to keep your stubble looking consistently good with ease. My only slight gripe is that I would have prefered it to have had a charging dock instead of just a USB-C cable and having to lay it on the work surface while charging, a dock would have been much tidier but still very happy with my Shiny ne trimmer.

Use For me I would say it’s not for me as I have really thick hair on my face and it struggled to cut it and took quite a while for me to trim my face and I also had used to to have it completely trimmed down on to the very lowest setting and it would not like to cut the hair but I would say is if haven’t got thick facial hair like myself this would be absolutely perfect for someone to use for their face to trim and style it it’s another nice bit of kit from babyliss

I like the adjustable length control on a blue led display. Easy to clean under the tap as fully waterproof. A quick charge and battery power constantly visible on led display..it gives a perfect trim and feels smooth on the face. I like the floating head for comfort and control. To be honest there is nothing not to like about this trimmer a really great product from Babyliss.

It looks modern and sleek with electronically adjustable length control and LED screen. The size of trimmer is appropriate size for my grip which is important for a trimmer. This has USB C which I think should be industry standard now. Would have been better if Babyliss could have added a usb charging stand as other Metal series.

Rated 5 out of 5 by billyroy1000 from The starship Enterprise of Trimmers I have always bought the cheaper trimmers in the past, the black plastic one’s that come with lot’s of combs. After a year I find myself buying another one as they are no longer any good. However I have just got the Babyliss Super-X Metal series Stubble Trimmer S996U. The first thing I would say is WOW. This is a metal (not cheap plastic) body with beautiful blue lights on charging and using. It feels like real quality when you hold it. Unlike all the others where you have a bag full of combs, the clever people at Babyliss have designed it with a comb fitted that can be adjusted to the depth you want, it even has an L.E.D display showing what you have chosen. If you want really close then the comb can be detached from the blade. So no more going through tons of combs and squinting to try and read the size. It gives me the perfect trim and I just love it. It really is like the Starship Enterprise of trimmers, from it looks, its capabilities and great new ideas to solve an age old problem with the combs. I am 100% sold on this trimmer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kris25 from Spot on! To start i always wear a very short stubble so i could only test this product in its lowest settings. However this was enough to show me what a really great well thought out trimmer this is. I want to begin with the new floating head feature, because of this it feels super smooth and easy on your face when trimming which i really liked compared to the traditional fixed head. Next the adjustable guard, the fully covered design of the comb guard means you don’t have to worry what angle or direction you shave your beard, you’re always only going to cut your beard to the length set on the trimmer which i was very pleased with as Ive had trouble in the past with trimmers combs failing to keep to the desired size. I think the motorised adjuster being able to go up in 0.2mm stages is great, i can imagine this being perfect for people who like to create a fade with their beard or ones who love to get it the perfect length. It seems a standard with the ‘Super-X metal series’ that you get this super battery life which i can easily get 5+ full shaves out of before fully charging again which is really good. Im really struggling to find anything wrong or that i would change about this trimming other than really minor things for example; hair can sometimes collect just behind the front comb, i don’t think this effects the trimming in anyway but can just be a little annoying when you go to change direction and a bunch of trimmings falls down your face. Another thing is the size of the trimmer, this trimmer measures around 18x4.5cm, now i know some people prefer a bigger trimmer so you feel like you have a better grip but i think id prefer it a little smaller similar to the ‘Super-X metal series 15in1 trimmer’ size of 15.5x3.5cm. I don't really see this as an issue as i think everyone has their own preference. Overall Im really impressed with this trimmer, i think the design team at Babyliss have worked really hard on perfecting the floating head and adjusting comb guard design and it really shows. Im going to really enjoy how easy this trimmer makes my routine shaving going fourth.
